What is PAWA 774?
PAWA 774 is a private sector-led initiative to deploy 10MW of clean, renewable energy power plants to each of the 774 local government areas in Nigeria.

Where is PAWA 774 located?
Our headquarters is under construction in Ondo State. We have liaison offices in Lagos and Abuja.  The addresses are listed in the Contact Us section of our website.

Why doesn’t PAWA 774 have a physical office?
We have physical liaison offices in Abuja and Lagos and the addresses can be found on our website. We have, however, built our communications on a largely electronic platform until our headquarters are fully constructed.

Staff at our liaison offices are on hand to assist you with your questions or concerns. You can also email for general questions, for job-related questions, or for media inquiries.

Is PAWA 774 an accredited company?
Yes. We are registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission. Our initiative is recognized by the federal government’s renewable energy programme under the Federal Ministry of Environment.

Is PAWA 774 a government agency?
No, PAWA 774 is a privately owned, privately funded organization. Our operations are wholly independent of the government at all levels: federal, state and local.

Who are your partners?
PAWA 774 is comprised of: The PNN Group, MIDATCO Group, the Nigerian Clean Energy Access Programme (NCEAP), Juwi Solar GmbH, S & C Electric Company, Suntech, Fully Power, SMA Solar Technology, Kevin Power Solutions Ltd, and EcoXchange Ltd.

We have also established delivery partnerships with the Renewable Energy Training Institute (RETI) and the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN).

How long has PAWA 774 been in existence?
We have been executing pilot projects in Ondo State with franchise partner TechVille since 2010. PAWA 774 was legally formed on 13 October 2011.

Why do I have to pay for the recruitment PIN?
We are all aware that the Nigerian educational system, unfortunately, has been unable to provide the expected quality of graduates required for this type of work. Therefore, we can only rely on our standardized test results for the selection of people we will train. We cannot afford to train everybody, and so we have chosen to train only those who meet our basic expectations as determined by our psychometric computer-based test.

Am I paying to get a job?
PAWA 774 applicants are NOT paying to get a job with our company. Purchase of the PAWA 774 recruitment PIN is only for the smart test.

Which banks are selling the PAWA 774 recruitment PIN?
All national banks sell the recruitment PIN, via their eTranzact portal.

I went to the bank but they say they don’t know anything about a PAWA 774 PIN. What should I do?
The PAWA 774 recruitment PIN is available at any bank in Nigeria, via eTranzact.

If the staff of the bank says they are not aware of this, please tell them to open their eTranzact link and PAWA774 will be on their list for payment.

I have gotten my recruitment PIN from the bank, but am now having trouble logging in. What should I do?
If you applied before November 30, 2011, please ensure that you are logging in with your reference code, which starts with REF. After you log in, your mobile number becomes your UNIQUE ID.

If you are a new applicant, your mobile number is your UNIQUE ID and should be used to log in to the application.

I cannot complete my online application. What should I do?

Why can’t I generate my test date schedule?
We have not yet set any dates for the smart test. When your date is set, you will be notified via email at the email address you provided in your application.

When and where will the smart test be held?
Test dates are scheduled according to the number of applicants received in each region.  Applicants will be informed via email of their test date and location no less than 14 days prior to the test.

What is the deadline for PAWA 774 job applications?
PAWA 774 does not have a fixed deadline for applications as we aim to employ almost 1 million people over the next 5 years. However, we will recruit trainees in batches. Applications for the first batch of trainees must be submitted by 31 March 2012. What does the PAWA 774 training programme consist of?
We will provide intensive, practical training in the design, installation, operation, maintenance and management of renewable energy systems. This training will last four weeks, and will be onsite at various renewable energy plants around the country.

Who will be accepted into PAWA 774’s training programme?
All applicants who successfully pass our computer-based smart test will be accepted to the training programme.

I am not a technician. Why do I need to be trained in all aspects of renewable energy systems?
PAWA 774 requires that all employees under this initiative have a basic understanding of all aspects of building, running and maintaining renewable energy plants. Specialized training will be available for different types of employees in their designated field.

How much does the training programme cost?
Our training programme is 100% free of charge.

Who will conduct the training programme?
The PAWA 774 training programme will be conducted by the Renewable Energy Training Institute.

Where will the training be held?
All training is onsite, at various locations around Nigeria. Initially, we will send graduates of the training programme to Ondo State (Ondo town) or Plateau State (Jos), but eventually all graduates will be able to train and work in their own local government area.

What will I get out of the training programme?
All participants will receive four weeks of world-class training in all aspects of building and managing renewable energy systems, 100% free of charge. After four weeks, graduates will receive certification from the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN). This certification is required for all who seek job placement in the power sector. Graduates of the PAWA 774 training programme will also receive skills and knowledge which will serve them wherever they go in the world as renewable energy professionals.

What is the benefit of my getting a NAPTIN certificate?
All job seekers in the power sector are required to have NAPTIN certification.  This usually takes one to two weeks to acquire, and can cost anything from $600 to $2000. PAWA 774 provides this opportunity free of charge. NAPTIN certificate holders will be able to work anywhere in the country, with any company in the power sector.

How can I participate in the training programme?
You must take and pass a computer-based smart test prior to being accepted into the PAWA 774 training programme.

How will I know when my training workshop starts?
You will be notified via email when your training workshop is scheduled. Once you pass the smart test, you are guaranteed a place in our free training programme and you will receive further information no less than 14 days before training starts.

Will I be employed after training?
Yes, all PAWA 774 trainees are eligible for employment in the renewable energy sector after completing the training workshop.
